The short version first.
- No accounts. Your browser holds a private owner key. Whoever has it controls the devices it claimed.
- Your hardware, your data. Programs run on your devices. Photos and audio stay there; only events reach pibot.dev.
- We never hold your money or keys. Machine wallets live in Swiss Vault, on your own computer. pibot.dev stores public addresses, limits and payment proposals only.
- A person approves payments, unless you switch on “pay by itself” for a machine, and then only within the limits you set.
- No tokens, stakes or fund units are offered today. The “Back” button is a free signal with no financial value or rights.
1. Who and what
pibot.dev (“Pibot”) is software for building programs for your own hardware: a website, an API, and an agent you run on your Raspberry Pi or other Linux device. Operator: [legal entity, address, register number: to be added].
2. Your owner key and devices
- There is no sign-up. Pibot creates a random owner key in your browser. Keep a copy (Devices → owner key). If you lose it, you lose access to your devices on pibot.dev, and we can’t recover it.
- Pairing gives pibot.dev permission to send your device the apps, skills, chat messages and payment instructions you choose. Remove a device at any time; the agent then stops taking instructions.
- The agent can only install apps from its built-in list. A message from pibot.dev cannot make it run arbitrary commands.
3. Apps, skills and community projects
- Store apps are third-party open-source software under their own licences, shown on each app. Pibot installs them from their official sources and doesn’t change them.
- Community apps and hardware designs are published by users and not reviewed. They never install with one click. Read the code before you run it.
- By publishing, you confirm you have the right to release the work under the licence you chose. Listings that are reported three times are hidden.
4. Local AI
Local models can be wrong, and they can sound confident when they are. Check anything that affects safety, money, people or buildings. A model’s suggestion is never an instruction to act; machines only act through the skills and limits you configure.
5. Machine wallets and agentic payments
- Each machine can have a wallet: a Swiss Vault AI-agent account with its own address and spending rules. Swiss Vault is separate software that runs on your computer. Its keys never reach pibot.dev.
- A machine’s AI may propose a payment. pibot.dev checks it against the machine’s limits (per payment, per day, approved recipients). You approve or reject it. The Pi then asks Swiss Vault to pay, and Swiss Vault applies its own rules on top.
- Crypto payments can’t be reversed. Wrong networks or addresses lose funds. Start with test networks (Base Sepolia) and small amounts. Swiss Vault states it has had no independent security review.
- You are responsible for what your machines buy, for taxes, and for following the laws where you and the recipient are.
6. Tokens, stakes and the investment fund: current status
Nothing below is offered, sold or available. It describes a plan that is on hold until it has legal approval. Nothing on pibot.dev is investment advice or an offer of securities.
| Planned feature | Why it is on hold |
|---|---|
| Stakes in mini apps with a share of rewards and voting rights | Tokens that pay out profits or carry voting rights are generally treated as securities (asset tokens) by FINMA. In the EU and the US the same applies under their securities laws. Offering them needs a prospectus or an exemption, plus KYC/AML checks. |
| Swiss Vault token that funds a general investment fund | A pooled fund is a collective investment scheme. Access limited to professional investors must follow the legal definitions. In Switzerland, a private person can only opt in as professional with about CHF 500,000 in assets plus the right knowledge, or CHF 2 million (FinSA art. 5), not “over 100k”. |
| Investment robots that invest on your behalf | Managing other people’s money is portfolio management. In Switzerland that needs a FINMA licence (FinIA), with suitability checks for every client. |
| Licence tokens bought inside mini apps | Possible as utility tokens (paying to use an app or device) if they carry no profit rights and aren’t marketed as an investment. This needs a legal opinion per token. |
Until then, the free “Back” signal lets people show which apps and machines should be built next. It has no price, no rights and no payouts, and it can’t be transferred.
7. Assembly network
Listings for assemblers, robots, factory space and build requests come from users and are not verified. Deals are between you and the other party. The agreement checklists are general guidance, not legal advice; have contracts reviewed locally, especially in mainland China, where a Chinese-law contract and a registered counterparty matter.
8. What we store
- Devices: name, model, health readings, installed apps and skills, events, chat messages, wallet address and limits, payment proposals. Keys and secrets are stored only as hashes.
- Public listings: what you enter, plus a daily-changing hash of your IP address to limit spam.
- Your browser stores your owner key, progress and preferences locally.
9. No warranty
The software is provided as it is, without warranty, to the extent the law allows. Pibot isn’t liable for losses from hardware, apps, AI output, payments or listings, except where the law doesn’t allow that limit (for example gross negligence or intent). [Governing law and venue: to be added after legal review.]
